ISLAMABAD: Following Supreme Court’s decision on Wednesday, the telecommunication industry has decided to not deduct tax on recharge for the next 15 days.
According to sources, on the recharge of Rs100, the consumer will get the full amount and no tax will be deducted.
Following the decision of the apex court, the telecommunication companies would not deduct the usual amount of Rs35.62 from 12am onwards from tomorrow.
Telecommunication companies have devised a plan in this regard to provide tax relief to the consumers.
However, this relief would be for 15 days only. After 15 days, the companies would consult Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to devise new tax policy regarding phone recharge.
Earlier this month, the Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Saqib Nisar ordered telecommunication industries to reduce tax burden on consumers.
