LAHORE: Former Prime Minister (PM) Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday approached Lahore High Court (LHC) to challenge the appellate tribunal’s decision of rejection of his nomination papers.
PML-N’s leader appeal read that the election tribunal exceeded from its authority when it disqualified a former PM for life.
Abbasi was to contest elections from his home constituency NA-57, Murree.
Abbasi was disqualified on Wednesday by the appellate tribunal on the basis of concealing facts and information from the voters.
The verdict read that the PM Abbasi was found guilty under the Article 62(1)(f) of the constitution.
